Giveaways

Create a giveaway

If a giveaway host role is set, you need that role or Administrator permission to create giveaways in Discord. Without a host role, anyone who can use the command can host. A server manager can change defaults with /settings giveaways.

Run /giveaway create. Enter the prize in item, a winners count from 1 to 100, and a duration, such as 1d.
Select a channel, or leave the option empty to use the current channel. Add an optional description or image.
Set preview to true to review the giveaway privately. A preview does not create or start a giveaway.
Run the command again without preview to publish. To start later, add a schedule delay. Scheduling requires Server Premium.

You can also create, preview, and publish from your server’s Giveaways page in the dashboard.

Members enter through the giveaway’s button or reaction. When the timer ends, Prize Bot draws eligible winners and posts the results. See Claims for prize delivery, or Status boards to show active giveaways and auctions together.

Commands

For commands that require message_id, enable Developer Mode in Discord settings. Open the giveaway message’s menu, select Copy Message ID, and paste the ID into the command.

/giveaway create

item What you're giving away (required)

winners Number of winners to select, from 1 to 100 (required)

duration How long the giveaway runs, e.g. 1d, 12h (required)

schedule Delay before the giveaway starts, e.g. 24h (Server Premium)

channel Channel to post the giveaway in; defaults to the current channel

preview Set to true to review privately without posting or starting a giveaway

/giveaway duplicate

Copy a giveaway using its message_id. Optionally change channel, duration, or schedule, or set preview to true. The copy is a new giveaway with no entrants or winners and uses the current server settings. Scheduling requires Server Premium.

/giveaway reroll

Supply message_id and an optional winner to replace that winner. Without winner, the command replaces all winners. In Events, staff can choose multiple winners to replace together.

Selective rerolls preserve unselected winners and their claims. A winner whose claim is collected, has ticket history, or is being delivered cannot be replaced. Replacements are drawn from eligible entrants who have never won this giveaway. If there are too few eligible entrants, the reroll makes no changes. The replaced winner's unopened claim is cancelled.

Use the Reroll button on an ended giveaway message for a full reroll. The same protections apply. Older giveaways without a saved winner list cannot be rerolled.

/giveaway delete

Cancel and delete a giveaway.

message_id Message ID of the giveaway to delete (required)

Edit in the dashboard

Use the dashboard giveaway manager to edit queued or active giveaways and see each entrant's Discord display name, username, and avatar. Remove selected entrants from an active button giveaway while keeping the giveaway running.

/giveaway entrants

Giveaway hosts and admins can list active button giveaways in the current channel, open entrant management, and remove entrants in bulk with Discord's searchable user picker.

Giveaway Entries

Use the message context menu on a giveaway message to open entrant management for that exact giveaway.

/giveaway remove_entrant

Giveaway hosts and admins can remove one user's active entry from a button giveaway when they already know who needs to be removed.

Configuration

Use /settings giveaways to set defaults for new giveaways:

Host Role Role allowed to create giveaways. Administrators bypass this requirement. Leave empty to allow any command user.
Log Channel Channel for results and prize claim messages
Alert Role Role to ping when new giveaways start
Entry Mode Choose whether new giveaways use an Enter Giveaway button or gift reaction entries
Required Entry Role Entrants must still have the selected role when winners are drawn, including on rerolls. Changing this setting affects new giveaways; existing giveaways keep their saved requirement.
Require Server Tag Entrants must be displaying this server's tag when winners are selected. Changing this setting affects new giveaways; existing giveaways keep their saved requirement.
Hide Reroll button Remove the public reroll button when servers prefer command-only rerolls
